1. Who we are

These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the PermitFlow API and related services (the "Service") provided by PermitFlow ("PermitFlow", "we", "us", "our"). By accessing or using the Service you agree to be bound by these Terms.

2. Acceptance

By creating an account, generating an API key, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you are using the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization. If you are an individual, you confirm that you are of legal age in your jurisdiction.

3. The Service

PermitFlow provides a REST API and webhooks that surface normalized US construction permit and contractor license data sourced from public records. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation of the Service.

4. Acceptable use

You must not misuse the Service. In particular, you agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose, fraud, or spam;
  • Infringe the intellectual property rights of PermitFlow or any third party;
  • Probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the Service or attempt to bypass security or rate limits;
  • Introduce malware, scrape beyond your plan's quota, or interfere with other users.

5. Accounts and API keys

You are responsible for keeping your account credentials and API keys confidential and for all activity that occurs under them. You agree to provide accurate information and keep it up to date.

6. Intellectual property

PermitFlow retains all right, title, and interest in and to the Service, including its software, documentation, and branding. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Service within the plan you have selected. You may not reverse engineer, resell, or redistribute the Service or circumvent its technical limits.

7. Payment, billing, and subscription terms

Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns. Payment, billing frequency, applicable taxes, renewals, cancellations, and refund mechanics are governed by Paddle's Buyer Terms and our Refund Policy.

8. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service for: material breach of these Terms, non-payment, security or fraud risk, or repeated or serious policy violations. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ends immediately.

9. Warranties and liability

The Service is provided "as is". To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all implied warranties, including merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose. Our aggregate liability arising out of or relating to the Service is capped at the fees you paid us in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or special damages, including loss of profits, data, or goodwill. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability for fraud, death, or personal injury where such exclusion is prohibited by law.

10. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify PermitFlow against claims arising from your unlawful use of the Service or your breach of these Terms.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which PermitFlow is established, without regard to conflict of law principles. The courts of that jurisdiction have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising under these Terms.

12. Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the Service or by email. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
